The International Rescue Committee (IRC) is pleased to open registration and enrolment for phase two of the NHS ICB North East Employment Support Programme, supporting refugees across Newcastle, Gateshead, and Tees Valley.

This NHS‑funded, health‑informed employment programme is designed to support refugees – particularly those with physical, cognitive, or mental health challenges (including self‑identified conditions) – to move closer to sustainable employment.

The programme offers:

  • Industry‑specific job readiness training aligned with employer expectations
  • Sector‑focused ESOL (Vocational ESOL) to build workplace vocabulary and communication skills
  • One‑to‑one coaching and tailored casework support
  • In‑work support to improve job retention and employment stability
  • A hybrid delivery model, combining in‑person and online support

Please refer eligible clients using the referral form.

They are keen to connect with local recruitment and hiring teams to discuss potential referral pathways and collaboration opportunities. We would appreciate your support in sharing this opportunity widely and referring eligible clients.
